February Sports Review

Our new Sports Review will be released every month to capture the very best of the local sports clubs that we sponsor. Paul Robinson Solicitors LLP sponsors many sports clubs including cricket, football and rugby clubs from the local area.

After Chris Powell’s appointment as Southend United Football Club Manager in January, February has been a very successful month for the team. They signed 3 new players; Shayon Harrison, Freddie Ladapo and Sam Mantom, and won 3 out of 4 games during the month, making it 5 games in a row without a loss for Powell. The club are also continuing their networking events, having hosted a very successful event on 21st February, their next networking event will be at our office, The New Bank, on 4th April.

Billericay Town Football Club had a great start to February with a 3rd round FA Trophy reply win against Harrogate on 6th February. However, the FA Trophy run came to an end on 24th February with a 2-5 loss against Wealdstone. It was also announced that Glenn Tamplin, Manager and Owner of BTFC will see the season out as Manager. The Club continues to hold their very well attended breakfast networking event. The last one on 22nd February saw many new faces and businesses come to the club and enjoy the benefits of being part of the BlueBook, the clubs trusted online directory.

Southend Rugby Football Club have had a tough month of games, losing to Tring and narrowly losing to Towcestrians. However, the club is going from strength to strength with new events and networking opportunities being released. The club have announced their Sportsman Dinner and May Ball on their social media and website. Their networking event on 9th February saw many local business supporters of the club, including ourselves, as main sponsor, join together.

Billericay Cricket Club are preparing for their next season, after installing two electronic scoreboards at the end of February. They have also announced their next comedy night on 29th March after another successful night on 1st February.

Canvey Football Club have seen one win over Maldon Tiptree FC, one friendly win over Southend manor FC and 3 draws this month. The club has also welcomed back Henry Newcombe and said goodbye to Goalkeeper Jack Giddens, who has gone back to his parent club, Billericay Town FC.
