As Southend United Football Club prepare for the upcoming season, officially starting on 4th August this year, the club has witnessed many new arrivals. The new arrivals include Simon Manton, Tom Hopper and Harry Lennon. Also, some familiar faces have been announced as resigning for this coming season, namely, Mark Oxley, Michael Turner, Simon Cox and Ted Smith. The club also announced their annual Meet the Blues Day will be held on 29th July at Boots and Laces Training ground. The Southend United Community and Education Trust also held their annual awards evening on 14th June at The Arlington Ballrooms celebrating the hard work of both the Trust and Community.

Billericay Town Football Club also had many new signings this month, including; Callum Kennedy, Ricky Hayles, Simon Waltom, Joe Ellul, Connor Hunte, Moses Emmanuel and goal keeper Josh Strizovic. The new BTFC team is shaping up nicely for their first friendly match which is to be held on 7th July. We wish the best of luck to everyone in the team new and present.

Southend Rugby Football Club have seen the return of Andrew McClintock, the Head of our Property Department at Paul Robinson Solicitors LLP, or as he is known at the club ‘Macca’. Andrew who was a fan favourite in the first team as Captain, will be returning as Technical Specialist.  Josh Ward commented, “Having access to someone as knowledgeable & experienced as Macca is outstanding for both the club & senior squad.” Simon Hoult will also be returning to the club as Player Coach. The club have also recently signed Fraser Banks who has previously represented Scotland in the U20s Rugby League World Cup. The fixtures for the upcoming season have been released for the first team who will be playing in London 1 North this season. We wish them the best of luck for their first game on 1st September.

Southend-On-Sea & EMT Cricket Club have had their first win this season on 23rd June. Previously this month they narrowly lost to Ilford by 3 wickets. They also lost to Wanstead and Billericay Cricket Club on 9th and 16th June. However, on 23rd June all 5 of the SOSETMCC teams won! The first team won to Shenfield, 213-8 to Shenfield’s 212-10. We hope they can keep up their winning streak with all teams for the rest of the season.

Billericay Cricket Club started off well this month winning against Shenfield CC on 2nd June. They suffered a loss to Hadleigh CC on 9th June. But picked themselves back up winning to Southend-on-Sea & EMT CC by 278-8 to Southend’s 173-10. Unfortunately, their last match of the month was to Brentwood CC where they lost 157-10 to Brentwood’s 158-3. We wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season and they are sure to win more matches as we enter July.

Well done to all of the great clubs that we sponsor. Look out for our monthly round up, at the end of each month, on our website and social pages.
