March Sports Review

Our new Sports Review will be released every month to capture the very best of the local sports clubs that we sponsor. Paul Robinson Solicitors LLP sponsors many sports clubs including cricket, football and rugby clubs from the local area.

This month has been challenging for many sports clubs due to the snow and harsh weather conditions. However, at Southend United Football Club, fans clubbed together to help clear the snow for the 3rd March game against Walsall, although a defeat of 3-0, Southend showed their community spirit and love for their club. Southend and Powell are also showing their support for Prostate Cancer UK by adding the ‘Man of Men’ logo to their shirts. Powell is also running the London Marathon in aid of the Charity. After a run of four games with no wins this month, Southend pulled it back and won 2-0 against Rotherham on 24th March. They also look ahead to their last game of the month against Plymouth this Easter Weekend.

Billericay Town Football Club have had an amazing month by becoming the Essex Senior Cup Champions on 20th March, winning 2-1 against Chelmsford City. Although, the first two matches of the month ended in defeat, their four wins since against Dorking, Chelmsford City, Wingate And Finchley, and Harrow Borough see them back on form again. Also, this month, Billy Bricknell scored his 100th goal for the club.

Paul Robinson Solicitors LLP is pleased to announce that we are renewing out sponsorship contract with Southend Rugby Football Club for another 2 years. The club has had a string of successful events this month. Their Saxons Business Networking Event continues to thrive. They also had a very successful Sportsmans Dinner on 15th March. Although the club have had some bad losses this month against Tunwells, Sutton & Epsom and Hertford, they are determined to pull themselves back up. The Director of Ruby and the club have also mutually decided to part ways this month. The club are keeping upbeat ahead of their final home game of the season on 7th April and we are delighted to continue our support of the club in these tough times.

Billericay Cricket Club continue to prepare for their next season. The grass is now cut and the electronic scoreboards are up and ready for use. The U13 team qualified for the indoor league final against Ilford, but sadly lost on the day. However, they are feeling prepared for the summer ahead.

Canvey Football Club have had a mixed month; a loss, a win, a loss and then a win again. Let’s hope their match tonight against Heybridge Swifts changes this month’s pattern.

Southend on Sea & EMT Cricket Club kicked off this month by announcing 6 new signings for the coming season, including; Alex Hatton, Charlie Lockhart, Carl Lees, Scott Simmons, Lewis Wright and Arafat Bhuiyan. We wish them the best of luck at the club.

Well done to all of the great clubs that we sponsor. Look out for our monthly round up, at the end of each month, on our website and social pages.
