September Sports Review

Our Sports Review is released every month capturing the very best of the local sports clubs that we sponsor. Paul Robinson Solicitors LLP sponsors many sports clubs including cricket, football and rugby clubs from the local area.

The Blues started off this month with a 2-1 defeat against Charlton at home. However, we were match sponsors for the game and the team played well against a tough side. We awarded Man of The Match to Elvis Bwomono. On 4th September Southend came back for a win against Cambridge United, with Issac Hutchinson’s debut goal adding to the 3-1 win. Goalkeeper David Stockdale joined the team early this month on emergency loan from Birmingham City. The side unfortunately went on to lose to Peterbrough and Shrewbury. However, on 22nd September Southend won against Fleetwood and on 29th beat Wycombe, returning to their winning streak. This month Fiona Colwell, Partner in Litigation and Natalie Pavelin, Marketing, were invited to the club for team photos and we confirmed our continued long-standing relationship and sponsorship of the club.

Billericay Town Football Club unfortunately lost their first match of the month. However, Jake Robinson, our Echo Sports Award winner for this month, scored his 10th goal of the season. On 8th September Conner Hunte made his first appearance for the club and the team won 2-0 to Hertfordshire. The team drew to Dartford on 15th September and a few days later Dean Brennan was appointed as first team manager. On 22nd September Brennan won his first match against Burnham in the FA Cup second qualifying round and this weekend Billericay won 2-0 against Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Southend Rugby Football Club lost their first four games of the month but won against Amersham and Chiltern 29-7 on 22nd September. Unfortunately, the team narrowly lost to Old Priorians this weekend 33-29. However, Paul Robinson Solicitors and the club are looking forward to their City Dinner on 8th November with David Flatman.

Southend on Sea and EMT Cricket Club unfortunately lost their last two games of the season but were not downhearted as they were voted the most hospitable club in the whole of the Essex Cricket League. Well done Southend!

Billericay Cricket club finished their season on a high winning against Hornchurch CC who had been newly crowned league champions. This month ended with the club’s annual awards ceremony. Good luck for the next season!

Basildon Rugby Football Club unfortunately lost all four games this month to Woodford, South Woodham Ferrers, Romford & Gidea Park and Saffron Walden. However, on 22nd September we were extremely delighted to be invited down to the club to have photos with both the first and second team ahead of their game against Romford & Gidea Park.

Well done to all of the great clubs that we sponsor. Look out for our monthly round up, at the end of each month, on our website and social pages.
