On 9 December 2020, the government announced its intention, under the Coronavirus Act 2020, to make a further amendment, to the ability to obtain possession of a business property, where there are rent arrears.
The change will result in the business protection being extended until 31 March 2021, and therefore forfeiture proceedings cannot be sought prior to that date.
