Half term is here, and the Christmas holidays are not far off, and for future planning for the Easter/   summer holidays:

If you are travelling abroad with your child/ren who do not share your surname, you are advised to take their birth certificate with you in case you are questioned when going through Passport control.

This will then provide evidence of your relationship to the child.

You may also like to consider changing the child’s surname in the future – which needs the consent of all of those who hold Parental Responsibility, and if agreement can not be reached, an application to the Court can be made.
