As we have all been informed, from today, Essex will be placed under high alert, Tier 2 regulations.
Tier 2 means that you must not socialise with anyone in any indoor setting, that you do not live with or who is not in your support bubble.
Children, however, whose parents have separated, are able to move between households as they always have been, right the way through both lockdowns and in various Tiers.
This means that even over the Christmas period, the arrangements for children who have separated parents can form part of each parent’s ‘household’ or ‘bubble’. Therefore, they will be counted in the same household as the parent that they will be visiting or living with for that period of time.
We have had lots of enquiries about what should happen with children travelling between the households at this very difficult time. However, the Government has been very clear that children should be able to continue to see both parents in each of their households, as long as nobody is in Isolation or showing symptoms of Covid-19.
